Hazrat Muhammad PBUH Said Women Must Use Henna (Mehndi) On Her Hands Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم’s guidance about Heena (الحناء) Mehndi Arabic words written in below references are the words mentioned in respected Hadees. You can confirm the references of Hadees at sunna.com & Al-Maktab Al-Shamilah (المكتبة الشاملة) also. Be different from Jews & Christians 1. Hazrat Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه says that Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said that the Jews (اليهود) and Christians (النصارا) do not dye their hairs, so be different from them. : Reference Bukhari: 5899; Book no. 77; In English volume no. 7; Book no. 72; Hadees no. 786. (Means apply henna on hair and beards but do not use black colour and remember we are allowed to use natural herb to colour our hair and beard which get grey). The word (يصبغون) is used for dying the hair in Hadees. Use a dye 2. Hazrat Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه was asked “Did Rasool Allah use a dye? He replied, “Yes”.. : Reference Shamaa’il Muhammadiyah; Book no. 6; Hadees no. 46; In English; Book no. 6; Hadees no. 45. Dye hairs & avoid black dye 3. Hazrat Jabir رضي الله عنه said that Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم asked Abu Quhafah to dye his hairs & avoid black. (Abu Quhafah’s hairs were white like flower & fruit of Thughamah plant). : Reference An-Nasa’i: 5242; Book no. 48; In English volume no. 6; Book 48, Hadees no 5244. Heena & Katam for dye 4. Hazrat Anas رضي الله عنه says that Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه dyed his hair with Heena (الحناء) & Katam (الكتم) & Hazrat Umar رضي الله عنه dyed his hair with pure Heena (الحناء). : Reference Muslim 2341 A; Book no. 43; In English; Book no. 30; Hadees no. 5779. (Katam (الكتم) is a plant from Yemen, which gives a reddish black colour). 5. Hazrat Abu Zar Gaffari رضي الله عنه says that Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said, to turn oldness into youngness; Heena (الحناء) & Katam (الكتم) are there. : Reference Ibn Ma-jah: 3753; Book no. 32; In English volume no. 4; Book 32, Hadees no 3622 Hijamah & Heena 6. Hazrat Salma Umme Rafe رضي الله عنها said that Rasool Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم advised cupping (حجامہ) (Hijamah) for headache (migraine) & Heena (الحناء) for leg pain. : Reference Abu Dawud: 3858; Book no. 29; In English Book no. 28; Hadees no 3849. Heena applied by Rasool Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم 7. Narrated Ali Bin Ubaidullah from his grandmother Hazrat Salma Umme Rafe رضي الله عنها said that Rasool Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم never had any wound or prick with thorn, on which Rasool Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم did not applied Heena. : Reference Tirmizi: 2192; Book No. 28, In English volume no.4; Book 2, Hadees no 2054. (Means Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم use to apply Heena (الحناء) on every kind of wounds). Hairs of Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم: – 8. Hazrat Usman Bin Abdullah رضي الله عنه says that he was sent to Hazrat Umme Salma رضي الله عنها & she showed him the (respected) hair of Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم the hair was dyed with Heena (الحناء). : Reference Bukhari: 5897; Book no. 77; In English volume no. 7; Book no. 72; Hadees no.785 . Merits of Heena 9. Hazrat Waslah رضي الله عنه says that Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said “You have Heena (الحناء), it makes your hair bright (نور), purifies you (طهر قلوب), increase libido (الجماع), evidence in grave” (kabar) (شاهد فى القبر). : Reference Kanz al-Ummal: 28282. 10. Once Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم laid his (respected) hand on his hairs & said “For you, there is Heena (الحناء), the best of all dyes (الخصاب) for hairs, it brighten the face, increases the libido (الجماع). : Reference Kanz al-Ummal: 17316. Heena for women 11. Hazrat A’isha رضي الله عنها says that Rasool Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم guided women to at least apply Heena (الحناء) on their nails. : Reference An-Nasa’i: 5089; Book no. 48; In English volume no. 6; Book 48, Hadees no 5092. (This is a very long Hadees). 12. Narrated by Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه , who attributed Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saying, “Some people will dye their hair black like the breasts of pigeons at the end of time, but they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.” : Reference An-Nasa’i: 5075; Book no. 48; In English volume no. 6; Book 48, Hadees no 5078.Scientific benefit of Henna1.
